Seth Bodnar Raises $1.4 Million in Q3, Outraises Democrat 10-to-1, More Than Both Opponents Combined

Bodnar’s campaign heads into the final weeks with the support, resources and momentum to win

MISSOULA, MT — One day after new independent polling showed the former U.S. Army Green Beret and Independent candidate for U.S. Senate Seth Bodnar taking the lead in the race over Republican Kurt Alme, Bodnar’s campaign announced it raised more than $1.4 million in the third quarter of 2026. Bodnar raised more than both of his opponents combined, and raised more than ten times as much as the candidate on the Democratic ticket, Alani Bankhead.

“Every dollar behind this campaign sends a message: Montanans are ready to take our country back from politicians who answer to Party bosses and corporate donors and send a true Independent to the Senate,” said Kelly Webster, spokesperson for the Bodnar campaign. “MAGA D.C. insiders rigged this race, installing Kurt Alme on the ballot and propping up Alani Bankhead with nearly $1 million from his super PAC. Seth has built a movement of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents across Montana, and we have the support, momentum, and resources to win.”

Bodnar does not accept corporate PAC donations, is endorsed by the anti-corruption group End Citizens United, and has called for comprehensive political reform, including overturning Citizens United, banning stock trading by members of Congress, and imposing a lifetime ban on former members of Congress lobbying the committees they served on.

Bodnar is building a coalition of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to take on a broken political system that breeds corruption and drives up costs for Montana families. He is endorsed by former Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus; former Governors Marc Racicot and Steve Bullock; former Montana Republican Party Chair Susan Geise; Shannon O’Brien, who stepped down as chair of the Montana Democratic Party to endorse him; former NARAL Pro-Choice America President Nancy Keenan; the Montana AFL-CIO; the Montana Federation of Public Employees; Montana Conservation Voters; the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund; Planned Parenthood Action Fund; Reproductive Freedom for All; VoteVets; and End Citizens United.

Seth Bodnar is a Green Beret, business leader, and former president of the University of Montana running for the U.S. Senate to be an independent voice for Montana. Seth is guided by a lifelong commitment to duty, honor, and country. He graduated first in his class at West Point and served multiple overseas deployments, leading soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division and the 1st Special Forces Group, and serving as a special advisor to the commanding general in Iraq. After his military service and a successful career in business, Seth spent the last eight years leading the University of Montana. Under his leadership, the university achieved record high graduation rates, doubled research funding, launched the largest infrastructure renewal in campus history, restored financial stability, and was named the #1 military-friendly university in the country. Raised by two public school teachers, he believes leadership is about service, not party loyalty. Seth and his wife, a fifth-generation Montanan, are raising their three children in Montana.
