PRESS RELEASE
Montana Federation of Public Employees Endorses Independent Seth Bodnar for U.S. Senate
MISSOULA, MT— Independent candidate for U.S. Senate Seth Bodnar today released the following statement after earning the endorsement of the Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE). MFPE represents more than 360 local unions across the state, including teachers, school employees, higher ed faculty and staff, law enforcement, and city, county, and state workers.
"As the son of two public school teachers, I grew up watching what it takes to serve the next generation: the early mornings, the second jobs, the money out of your own pocket for your classroom," said Bodnar. "MFPE represents the Montanans who teach our kids, care for our patients, and keep our communities running, and who have watched our broken political system deliver for the wealthy and well-connected while their own paychecks get squeezed. I'm going to the Senate to be an independent voice for all working Montanans, and I will answer only to them, never to Party bosses in DC.”
“We see our union’s political diversity and our members’ sincere desire to put politics aside to do what’s right for Montanan’s families reflected in Seth Bodnar,” said MFPE President Melissa Romano. “The son of public school teachers and a former university leader, Seth knows that supporting public schools, services, and safety is how our representatives in Congress should reflect Montana’s values.”
Seth Bodnar is a Green Beret, business leader, and former president of the University of Montana running for the U.S. Senate to be an independent voice for Montana. Seth is guided by a lifelong commitment to duty, honor, and country. He graduated first in his class at West Point and served multiple overseas deployments, leading soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division and the 1st Special Forces Group, and serving as a special advisor to the commanding general in Iraq. After his military service and a successful career in business, Seth spent the last eight years leading the University of Montana. Under his leadership, the university achieved record high graduation rates, doubled research funding, launched the largest infrastructure renewal in campus history, restored financial stability, and was named the #1 military-friendly university in the country. Raised by two public school teachers, he believes leadership is about service, not party loyalty. Seth and his wife, a fifth-generation Montanan, are raising their three children in Montana.
