PRESS RELEASE
ICYMI: Bodnar Campaign Outlines Path to Victory in November
MISSOULA, MT — In case you missed it, yesterday the campaign of Seth Bodnar, Independent Candidate for U.S. Senate in Montana, released a memo outlining the path to victory in a four-way race that solidified this week. The memo lays out how Bodnar—who, with the support of more than 4,000 individual Montana donors, has outraised every other candidate in the race combined and built a coalition of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents—doesn’t need a majority to win, just more votes than anyone else from an electorate where nearly 40 percent of voters identify as Independent or Independent-leaning.
“Republican Kurt Alme was installed on the ballot in a backroom deal, and Democrat Alani Bankhead won her primary by riding millions in outside dark money support. Montanans are sick of being handed candidates by a broken political system that protects its own power while life keeps getting more expensive for the rest of us. Seth Bodnar is running to be an Independent voice in the U.S. Senate and put Montanans first,” said Abigail Tracy, spokesperson for the Bodnar campaign. “This was always going to be a four-way race, and we built this campaign to win it. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents support Seth Bodnar, and that coalition is only going to keep growing between now and November.”
The memo details three ways the current race can shift in Bodnar’s favor over the next three months: sustained scrutiny of Alme’s record, which has gone so far largely unchallenged; Democrats increasingly consolidating behind the candidate best positioned to beat Alme, as national groups like the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee have already declined to invest in Bankhead’s campaign; and continued erosion of GOP support to Libertarian candidate Kyle Austin among Republicans uneasy with Alme.
Seth Bodnar is a Green Beret, business leader, and former president of the University of Montana running for the U.S. Senate to be an independent voice for Montana. Seth is guided by a lifelong commitment to duty, honor, and country. He graduated first in his class at West Point and served multiple overseas deployments, leading soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division and the 1st Special Forces Group, and serving as a special advisor to the commanding general in Iraq. After his military service and a successful career in business, Seth spent the last eight years leading the University of Montana. Under his leadership, the university achieved record high graduation rates, doubled research funding, launched the largest infrastructure renewal in campus history, restored financial stability, and was named the #1 military-friendly university in the country. Raised by two public school teachers, he believes leadership is about service, not party loyalty. Seth and his wife, a fifth-generation Montanan, are raising their three children in Montana.
