PRESS RELEASE

Seth Bodnar on Trump’s Visit to Montana: “Montana Deserves a Senator Who Answers Only to Montanans”

MISSOULA, MT — Former U.S. Army Green Beret and Independent candidate Seth Bodnar released the following statement ahead of President Trump’s political rally in Kalispell, Montana, later this afternoon.

“Later today, Kurt Alme will stand on a rally stage and promise to support the president and his party, no matter what. That’s exactly what he was put on this ballot to do.

“Back in March, the MAGA Party machine rigged the Montana Republican primary, installing Alme on the ballot through a backroom insider deal eight minutes before the filing deadline. Not a single Montana voter got a say. Why? Because they want a puppet in D.C. who will do the bidding of his party bosses and corporate donors, whether it’s good for Montana or not.

“A senator’s job is to work for Montanans, period. Not for the president, not for Washington insiders, and not for the special interests bankrolling his campaign. Kurt Alme has made it clear he’ll be a yes-man for all three. Montana deserves a senator who answers only to Montanans.

“I’ll work with any president, of any party, when it means lowering costs for Montanans, securing our border, defending our freedoms, standing up for farmers and ranchers, and lowering the price of health care. And I’ll stand up to any president, of any party, when they’re wrong on issues like tariffs and trade wars, public lands, reproductive freedom, and a war Congress never voted for.

“I’m running to give Montanans an Independent voice in the Senate who will fight for them every single day, and answer to no one else.”

Yesterday Bodnar sent the president a letter inviting him to meet during his visit to discuss how they could work together, and express his opposition to the costly and unauthorized war in Iran. Read the letter here.
