Independent Seth Bodnar Blasts Kurt Alme’s Blind Support for Costly and Unauthorized War in Iran

While Republican Kurt Alme blindly backs his party leadership, former Green Beret Seth Bodnar says he will never be anybody's “sheep."

MISSOULA, MT — In case you missed it, former Green Beret and Independent candidate for U.S. Senate Seth Bodnar blasted Republican Kurt Alme for his blind support of the costly and unauthorized war in Iran. Kurt Alme, who was installed on the ballot at the last minute by party bosses in Washington, D.C., doubled down on his support for the war that has cost American lives, added tens of billions of dollars to the national debt, and driven up the price of everything from gas to fertilizer for Montana families and farmers.

“The absolute last thing we need right now is another sheep in the U.S. Senate who’s just going to do whatever his party leadership tells him to do,” said Bodnar. “A senator’s job isn’t just to blindly back the President. I don’t care what party you’re a part of, your job is to carry out your Constitutional responsibilities. That’s your job. I will never be a sheep. I’ll do my damn job.”

Alme’s support for the war comes on heels of the National Republican Senate Committee trying and failing to censor his shocking record of refusing to prosecute sex crimes as U.S. Attorney, and as Kurt Alme continues to bleed support with Montana voters. 

According to the latest polling, Bodnar currently leads Democrat Alani Bankhead by 18 points, and after voters hear his message, he leads the race outright over Republican Kurt Alme. As voters continue to learn about Bankhead's past ties to far-right, anti-choice, and anti-LGBTQ institutions — and Alme's record declining to prosecute up to 79 percent of sexual abuse cases as U.S. Attorney — Republicans, Democrats and Independents are consolidating around Seth Bodnar.

Seth Bodnar is a Green Beret, business leader, and former president of the University of Montana running for the U.S. Senate to be an independent voice for Montana.
