Former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg Endorses Independent Seth Bodnar for U.S. Senate
MISSOULA, MT— Former U.S. Army Green Beret and Independent candidate for U.S. Senate Seth Bodnar’s campaign today announced the endorsement of former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
“The best leaders I’ve served with, in uniform and in government, care more about getting the job done than about who gets the credit, and Seth is one of them. Seth and I don’t agree on everything, but he has spent his adult life serving this country and the next generation, from the Army Green Berets to the University of Montana, and he’ll bring that same character to the Senate on behalf of all Montanans,” said Buttigieg. “Montana deserves a senator who will fight corruption in Washington, defend reproductive freedom, and work across the aisle to lower costs and actually get things done. Seth Bodnar will be that Senator.”
Buttigieg, a Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan and former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, joins a growing coalition of supporters from across the political spectrum backing Bodnar’s independent campaign.
“I’m honored to have Secretary Buttigieg’s support, and proud that people across the political spectrum are joining this campaign,” said Bodnar. “Montanans have always voted for the person, not the party, and they want a senator who will put their families, jobs, and public lands ahead of partisan games in Washington. I’ll answer to Montana, and I’ll work with anyone who’s willing to do the same.”
A new poll released October 15 shows Seth Bodnar leading Republican Kurt Alme, 37 percent to 35 percent. While Republican Kurt Alme and the candidate on the Democratic ticket Alani Bankhead bleed support, Seth is building a movement of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents ready to take our country back. With Election Day approaching, Seth has the coalition, the momentum, and the strategy to win.
Seth Bodnar is a Green Beret, business leader, and former president of the University of Montana running for the U.S. Senate to be an independent voice for Montana. Seth is guided by a lifelong commitment to duty, honor, and country. He graduated first in his class at West Point and served multiple overseas deployments, leading soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division and the 1st Special Forces Group, and serving as a special advisor to the commanding general in Iraq. After his military service and a successful career in business, Seth spent the last eight years leading the University of Montana. Under his leadership, the university achieved record high graduation rates, doubled research funding, launched the largest infrastructure renewal in campus history, restored financial stability, and was named the #1 military-friendly university in the country. Raised by two public school teachers, he believes leadership is about service, not party loyalty. Seth and his wife, a fifth-generation Montanan, are raising their three children in Montana.
