Reform Our Broken Politics
Our political system is completely broken. Political extremists have built a system that rewards conflict, punishes compromise, and keeps ordinary Americans angry at each other while political insiders and career politicians enrich themselves.
Montanans know how to disagree without contempt. When your neighbor needs help, you show up — regardless of how they voted. That is the spirit this campaign is built on, and it is the spirit Washington desperately needs.
What an Independent Senator Can Do
As an independent, I won't be constrained by D.C. party bosses or partisan pressure. I'll use my seat as leverage to push for better Senate leadership, negotiate committee positions that deliver for Montana, and build issue-by-issue coalitions that unlock the commonsense majority that exists in this country but is suppressed by party coercion. I'll answer to Montanans — not to a party, not to a donor class, not to cable news.
Structural Reforms
But individual integrity isn't enough. The system itself needs to change. I will fight for commonsense reforms that reduce the structural incentives driving our political dysfunction:
Ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks.
End corporate PAC money flowing to politicians.
Term limits for members of Congress.
Age limits for Congress and the Supreme Court.
Champion ranked-choice voting and fair redistricting reform that gives voters more power and politicians less reason to perform for the base.
Support campaign finance transparency so voters know who is funding whom.
