Where does Alani Bankhead really stand?
ALANI BANKHEAD'S STORY DOESN'T ADD UP
Montanans deserve to know the truth about Alani Bankhead’s past ties to far-right, anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ+ institutions and pattern of associating with violent extremists and antisemites.
Alani Bankhead Still Earns Money from a Far-Right Publisher Who Profits from Extreme Anti-Choice Books
Alani Bankhead's 2023 self-help book, The Least of Us: How Your Imposter Syndrome Points to Your Greatest Power, was published by Genesis Publishing House. Genesis is not a neutral vanity publishing operation. Its own website tells prospective authors it is “all about God, Family and Freedom” and that readers “can expect to read a book geared towards conservative principles” when they see the Genesis logo.
The rest of the Genesis catalog fills in what that means. Recent titles include Reversing Roe v. Wade: My Journey With Roe, Doe, and God – which calls abortion a “crime against humanity” and pledges to make abortion illegal, and Playing the Trump Card Again: Is This OUR Final Hand?, a book whose own description says it explores whether the COVID vaccine may symbolize the Mark of the Beast.
Bankhead's U.S. Senate financial disclosure, filed May 27, 2026, still lists the Genesis-published book as an income-producing asset generating royalties. She chose a publisher whose brand promise is anti-abortion, conservative Christian content, and continues to monetize that relationship as the Democrats’ standard-bearer.
Alani Bankhead Has Deep Ties to Pro-MAGA, Anti-Abortion, Anti-LGBT Institutions
Alani Bankhead and her family were members of McLean Bible Church in McLean, VA. McLean Bible Church promotes extreme anti-abortion and anti-LGBT views. Pastor David Platt preached that “abortion is a sin against god” and praised the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the church’s constitution declared that marriage “has only one meaning” and is exclusively between “one man and one woman.”
On her podcast in 2024, Bankhead said she applied for her job at a conservative evangelical nonprofit after hearing the founder speak at McLean Bible Church and Bankhead’s sister worked at the church for more than six years.
Alani Bankhead Thinks That “If You're Poor Right Now, It's Because You Decided You Wanted to Be Poor”
During a December 2025 episode of her podcast, Bankhead told listeners, “If you live in America…You can make as much or as little money as you want. So if you're poor right now, it's because you decided you wanted to be poor.” She added that she knew it “might sting some of your feelings, but I love you too much not to tell you the truth.”
This is Republican economic ideology in its purest form, delivered by a Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate. In June 2026, months into her campaign, she posted: “Are you happy? Are you financially independent? Are you healthy? If you are not one of those things, I hate to break it to you, but it's because you are allowing that.” On another episode she told listeners that everything happening to them “is actually happening because you created that,” explicitly including “things that are out of your control.”
Alani Bankhead Has a Pattern of Associating with Violent Extremists and Antisemites
During her Senate campaign, Bankhead has associated with extremists, posing for a picture and doing an interview with rightwing influencer Samuel Pascal Redfern. Redfern regularly spews hateful rhetoric and participated in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. He currently has a protective order against him from an ex-partner that alleged domestic violence.
Back in 2024, as Trump was campaigning for a second term and after Kanye West made extremely antisemitic remarks, including praising Hitler, denying the Holocaust and directly identifying himself as a Nazi, Bankhead proudly posed wearing a shirt declaring herself a Yeezy voter. Bankhead posted the photo on a burner Facebook account under the fictitious name “Elena Cabeza de Banco.”
